Thuc Le: A demand on a well-defined policy from these dissidents is unfair in my view. In the US, we have the Cato Institute, the Brookings Institute, the American Enterprise Institute, Hoover Institute, and many other think tanks to research on policies. From a phone conversation that we had with Le Thi Cong Nhan two months ago, she was looking to build an argument against the entire government machinery on why she believes what she does serve the best interest and aspiration of Vietnamese people. What can be a more off-sided picture here? A government determined to crack down on any form of civil disobedience on one side and a powerless 27 years old girl on the other side. Can you really ask more of what she already offers?
